PDI Day 2: Becoming

Becoming isn’t about chasing a future version of yourself. It’s not about striving, forcing, or waiting until you’ve “arrived.”

Instead, becoming begins here — in this breath, in this body, in this exact moment. Presence is the soil that allows growth to take root. When you pause and notice yourself fully — the way your breath moves, the way your thoughts come and go — you begin to understand that you’re already unfolding.

But presence alone isn’t the whole story. Intention gives it direction. Like a compass, intention doesn’t drag you forward, it gently orients you. It whispers: “This is the kind of person I want to be. This is how I want to show up.”

So becoming is less about reaching and more about aligning. Aligning each moment, each choice, each breath with the quiet intention you carry.

A compass is often used to ensure we are headed in the right direction, geographically and is centered in a practice I’d like to share with you today.

Pra

Inviting you now to Settle into Presence

Close your eyes or soften your gaze. Take a slow inhale, feeling the breath fill your body. Exhale fully, arriving here, now.

Anchor in the Present

Notice the sensations in your body — your feet on the ground, your breath rising and falling. Whisper to yourself: “I am here.”

Call in Intention

Ask inwardly: “Who do I want to be in this moment?” or “What quality do I wish to embody today?” (examples: calm, confident, open-hearted).

The Compass Breath

On each inhale, imagine drawing in the energy of that intention.

On each exhale, imagine radiating it outward into your posture, your presence, your day
